VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
EVENTS & COMMITTEES



SCHOOL PICTURES:  Kindergarten pictures, class pictures and retakes:  October 15th.  Kindergarten retakes (if needed) and Santa pictures:  date TBD  Spring pictures:  date TBD.  Volunteers needed to help process run smoothly.  

 

FUNDRAISERS:  Several fundraisers held throughout the school year beginning in September with Spirit Cards.  Other fundraisers include:  Cookie Dough – October; Sally Foster – November.  Volunteers needed to sort information, assist PTO with advertising, collecting orders, distribution of orders if needed etc.

 

YARD & CRAFT SALES:  Fundraiser for PTO selling tables for event   - October 2nd from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Volunteers needed to make signs, set up and breakdown the days of the event.

 

FAMILY FUN NIGHTS:  Planned events for families including food and entertainment (i.e. pizza & a movie, game night, family fitness night).  First event will be held September 10th, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Volunteers needed for set up and clean up.

 

FALL FAIR:  A field day for students that include carnival games and food - Friday, October 29th.  Grade levels will attend at different times during the day.  Volunteers needed for set up, manning game booths and food tent, clean up.

 

PENGUIN PATCH HOLIDAY SHOPPE:  This event gives students the chance to buy presents for their loved ones and learn about budgeting money.  Dates are from December 6th – 10th. Volunteers needed for set up, manning the shop and clean up.

 

BOOK FAIRS:  Spring and Fall book fairs presented by the BCA Library.  Scholastic Books are displayed for sale.  Volunteers needed to set up and decorate, help students/staff during the fair and to clean up.

 

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK:  Volunteers need to plan and coordinate activities for Teacher Appreciation Week in May. 

 

SMENCILS:  Scented, recycled pencils that will be sold one day of each month before school and at all PTO functions.  Volunteers needed to sell the pencils out in the front of the school at drop-off and at PTO events.

 

BULLETIN BOARD:  Volunteers needed to help create and maintain PTO and teacher bulletin boards when necessary.

 

PTO NEWSLETTER: Volunteers needed to help create and publish a monthly or quarterly PTO newsletter.


PTO COPY SORT: 
Volunteers needed to pick up copies of PTO flyers that will be going out in Tuesday folders, sort with count sheets given to them and have them in each teacher's box by Monday morning.

 

TUESDAY FOLDERS:  Volunteers needed to go into the classroom on Tuesday afternoon (around 1:30) to sort all the information/papers that need to go in the Tuesday folders that go home with each student.

 

HOMEROOM PARENT:  Volunteers needed in EACH homeroom to support the teacher in extra classroom activities and unite the parents of that classroom.

 

VISION & HEARING SCREENING:  Presented by the BCA Nurse’s Office at the start of the school year.  Volunteers needed to help the process run smoothly.  Dates TBD.

 

CLASSROOM VOLUNTEER:  Volunteers needed to assist teachers in the classroom.  Teachers submit a request to Volunteer Coordinators and request is filled based on availability of volunteers – anyone can volunteer in ANY classroom, it does not have to be your child’s classroom.
