The BCA library is pleased to continue to offer the web-based library catalog called
Destiny Quest
Advantages of this new system include:
- Library catalog can be accessed anytime, anywhere you have internet access.
- Students (and their parents!) can log in at any time and check their account and fine status, place books on hold, make a list of books they're interested in, or build a bibliography.
- When searching for a book, student can type in a subject, AR level range and point range to find a book quickly and easily.
- Book covers appear on screen, and holding the mouse over a book instantly gives the student the book title and author, a short summary, AR level, and number of copies available in the library.
- Students can post comments on books they've read and write recommendations for other students (pending library staff approval).
- Students can virtually browse our shelves.
- Even the youngest students can use the catalog with a visual search, clicking on pictures instead of typing in words for their search.
- WebPath Express is a controlled, curriculum-driven web search on the Destiny website that students can use for additional research. Students are taken to websites that have been examined for content and age appropriateness.
