Dear BCA Families,
It is my sincere hope that all of you are doing well and staying healthy in this unique and
challenging time for our nation. Now, as always, we hope you look to us as a school community
for support for you and your family. Our leadership team understands that this situation is
impacting families in unprecedented ways; we are working together to evaluate the situation
regularly in an effort to make the best decisions for all stakeholders.

Updates that we can provide at this time are listed below:

Spring Break/Calendar
The week of March 16-20 has been designated as the official spring break. There will be school
April 13-17. As families make arrangements in the face of uncertainties, we understand that
having expectations for academics/distance learning is not among the highest priorities.
However, commencing March 23, teachers will begin assigning lessons and communicating
regularly with parents and students to uphold continuity of instruction.

Communication Pipeline
Please expect regular communication via the methods outlined below. Our ed tech coach Mike
Roussell is available at between the hours of 9am-12pm
each weekday to troubleshoot problems you may have with ParentSquare, Google Classroom,
or Clever.
● K-8 School wide messages will be sent via ParentSquare.
● K-4 messages about academics will be sent via ParentSquare
● 5-8 messages about academics will be sent via Google classroom

Feeding Sites
● There are a number of sites for free grab-and-go breakfast and lunches for all children
under 18.

● Here is a link to a parish-by-parish list of school meal sites

At-home learning will commence on March 23. Please complete this Technology Needs Poll on
ParentSquare by the end of the day Tuesday, March 17.
● Online learning expectations--

○ ELA and math: Students should complete one i-Ready math and one i-Ready
Reading each weekday.
○ Science and social studies: Teachers will send one lesson/video/activity per

○ Enrichment/PE: Teachers will send one lesson/video/activity per week

○ 8th graders enrolled in Village Virtual coursework: Students should continue
working to meet course deadlines as if our school were in session.

● Report cards for Quarter 3 will be mailed early this week.
Facility Open Hours—Thursday, March 19 from 9-11am

● Medication pickup: Parents should come to collect prescription medication that the
nurses have been storing for students.

● Technology appointments, determined by Technology Needs Poll
Mental Health and Wellness
Our students need to remain emotionally well during this time. Our counselors are available for
remote guidance as needed by students and families.
